Nourishment at Noon
Nourishment at Noon is a drop-in gathering for instructors, at any career stage, to meet other educators who care about inclusive teaching and want to check-in and share how their efforts are going. This hour-long facilitated space, which convenes twice a month in virtual and in-person formats throughout winter and spring quarter, will center instructor well-being, renewal, and community sharing.
Overview
This informal gathering is intended to nurture a culture of care and community among Northwestern instructors. Nourishment at Noon will serve as an opportunity to debrief with colleagues, within and outside of one’s discipline, about their inclusive teaching journey. Topics of discussion could range from facilitation techniques that one is testing out to difficult dialogues with students. Facilitator Veronica Womack, a social psychologist and the Center’s Associate Director of Inclusive Learning, will utilize contemplative-centered approaches to check-in with instructors and cultivate conversations to support instructors as they sustain their inclusive teaching practices. Snacks and beverages will be served at the in-person gatherings.
