Maya Mei Wong
Maya joined the Searle Center as an administrative aide in 2023, bringing her keen attention to detail and organizational skills to the team. In her role, Maya ensures the smooth operation of the Center by organizing the Menges Library, updating Airtable databases, and assisting with office operations and website maintenance. She also worked as an undergraduate research assistant for the Center, meticulously researching the role of workshops at peer Centers for Teaching and Learning.
A Medill sophomore from the Bay Area, CA, Maya studies Journalism and Economics. She writes for The Daily Northwestern and currently serves as a Development and Recruitment Editor, where she onboards new staff writers and guides them through writing and editing their first articles. Maya also showcases her creative skills by designing magazine layouts for nuAZN and her financial acumen as the Assistant VP Finance of the Alpha Chi Omega Gamma Chapter. Last year, she exhibited her team spirit as a member of Northwestern’s cheerleading team, performing at football and basketball games. In her free time, you can find Maya volunteering at Paws and Claws Cat Rescue or baking up something sweet.
