Generative AI
We approach Generative AI (GAI) with a “wicked problems mindset,” addressing concerns like hallucinations, bias, and ethical use while exploring innovative applications in education. Our resources and workshops build AI literacy, encouraging instructors to enhance learning with GAI tools. Committed to humanizing pedagogy, we advocate for responsible GAI use that enhances learning and preserves essential human interaction.

Just like the annual Summer Course Design Institute, the Generative AI Edition guides instructors step-by-step in developing a course where they can have confidence that all enrolled students will have the opportunity to achieve the learning outcomes—no matter how rigorous or ambitious. Participants will experiment with using generative AI tools to craft meaningful learning outcomes, create authentic assessments aligned to those outcomes, sequence activities accordingly, and finally, construct Canvas-ready modules.
