Event Spaces
The Searle Center at Northwestern University provides two event spaces at no cost to Northwestern faculty, staff, postdocs, and graduate students.
Located on Northwestern Unversity's Evanston campus—a short walk to Tech and Noyes Street restaurants—the Center offers comfortable, flexible spaces for gatherings of various sizes. Amenities include two single restrooms, a lactation room with refrigeration, and a lobby coat rack. Reservations are available Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Requests outside these hours may be considered.
Menges Memorial Library
A bright, inviting space ideal for shared meals, meetings, and presentations—both in-person and hybrid.
- Seats 12 at the conference table
- Additional chairs with attached desks seat up to 20
- Large-screen TV and virtual conferencing equipment
- Access to refrigerator and kitchenette
- Outside food permitted
Searle Center Meeting Room
Perfect for small gatherings, shared meals, and presentations.
- Seats 8 at the table, up to 12 with couch and chair
- Whiteboard and large-screen TV and virtual conferencing equipment
- Access to refrigerator and kitchenette
- Outside food permitted
Menges Library & Meeting Room
Flexible layouts for standing receptions, networking events, and breakout sessions.
- Accommodates up to 40 guests for a standing event
- Includes access to the lobby area
- Perfect for cocktail-style gatherings or events with multiple discussion spaces
- Access to refrigerator and kitchenette
- Outside food permitted

ADA Accessibility
The Searle Center is a historic building and not a fully ADA accessible space. Increasing physical access to buildings and facilities is a goal of the University, but not all buildings and venues have been updated. Please contact us with questions.
Lactation Room
Access to the lactation room located in the Searle Center is managed by Northwestern University Human Resources. Please visit their Lactation Support webpage for information on how to reserve the room.
