University Practicum Digital Badge Recipients

The Searle Center is pleased to recognize recipients of the University Practicum Digital Badges. Recipients completed a set of required components to achieve each badge, demonstrating their commitment to deepening reflective, evidence-driven, and innovative pedagogical practices for enhanced student learning outcomes.

University Practicum on the Science of How Students Learn

This digital badge signifies completion of badge requirements for Northwestern’s 2026 University Practicum on the Science of How Students Learn. The learning outcomes included: (1) understand evidence-based teaching and key aspects of the science of learning, (2) explore strategies to cultivate learning environments that deepen student connections between new and prior knowledge, (3) identify varied techniques for focusing students' attention in class, including the ways technology can help or hinder learning, and (4) examine how definitions of rigor operate in a symbiotic relationship with equity to both challenge and support student learning.

University Practicum on Supporting Student Success

This digital badge signifies completion of badge requirements for Northwestern’s 2025 University Practicum on Supporting Student Success. The learning outcomes included: (1) identify multiple factors shaping student’s holistic success, (2) co-create and communicate course expectations with transparency and collaboration, (3) integrate resources into course design that support access to learning opportunities for all students, and (4) apply a student-centered framework to reflect upon current assessment practices.
