Daisy Haas

Daisy joined the Searle Center as the Assistant Director of STEM Education in May 2026. In this role, she supports STEM teaching and learning through the implementation of evidence-based, inclusive practices across STEM classrooms.
Daisy earned their Ph.D. in Chemistry from the University of Michigan, where their research focused on equity-centered chemistry education, STEM graduate teaching assistant professional development, and instructors’ responses to evolving sociopolitical contexts in higher education. Prior to joining Northwestern, Daisy served as a Graduate Student Instructional Consultant at the University of Michigan’s Center for Research on Learning and Teaching.
Daisy’s teaching philosophy centers on creating student-centered learning environments that empower learners through self-determination, critical thinking, and multiple opportunities to demonstrate growth. Their teaching experience includes organic chemistry laboratories, biochemistry discussion sections, and writing-intensive science communication courses. At the Searle Center, Daisy aims to contribute to the continued transformation of STEM education by advancing rigorous, equitable, and engaging learning experiences.
